Acosta/Halff House

In 1810, this site was part of a Spanish land grant given to Vicente Acosta. Emmanuel Longini bought this property from Sarah Eager in 1892 and built this house, which combines features of the Queen Anne and the Romanesque styles. In 1916, William Hermann bought the property for $10,000. The restaurant Casa San Miguel served Philippine cuisine here during HemisFair. Of special interest are the rough-faced stone arches at the entrance and the shingled, front-facing gable that curves into a recessed window.
