San Antonio Drug Company
At the southeast corner of St. Mary’s Street, the San Antonio Drug Company, for whom this building was erected, became the successor of two earlier drug companies: Dreiss, Thompson & Co. and Kalteyer & Schmidt, both established in the 1870s. A late 1990s renovation converted the building into a hotel.
Spanning the San Antonio River is the St. Mary’s Street Bridge, constructed in 1915. Architectural features include decorative swags and obelisk light posts.
