Old Sullivan Bank Building
Also called the Alamo Fish Market, these two adjacent buildings housed the bank of O’Connor & Sullivan, beginning in 1882. Daniel Sullivan, born in Ireland, moved first to Alexandria, Louisiana, then to Indianola, Texas before finally arriving in San Antonio with his wife Anne in 1882. Sullivan became sole proprietor of the bank and remained in business until the 1940s. In 1954, Atlee B. and Robert M. Ayres completed a remodel and addition that is still visible in the mid-century modern façade on the eastern side.
