James Sweeney House

Brothers Walter and Edward Tynan, who were contractors, built this house for James Sweeney in 1868. A Sweeney daughter married a Tynan in 1899, inherited this house, and lived here until 1917. This typical mid-19th century, caliche block house featured a central hall flanked by adjoining rooms, each with a fireplace. Later additions were made to the rear.
